The main game session runs through Amazon Luna on a compatible screen, while each participating detective uses a smartphone as a controller. Solo players can manage the full investigation themselves, while groups can divide clue reading, statement tracking, minigames, and deduction review.

The game’s core loop centers on briefings, evidence gathering, interrogations, detective activities, and logical deductions. Multiplayer does not turn the investigation into a traditional combat match. Instead, it gives each player a way to contribute observations and decisions to the same case.

The phone controller is central to the one-to-four-player format. The Luna screen presents the shared crime scene, dialogue, instructions, and case information. Phones provide the individual input method for examining evidence, responding to prompts, completing detective minigames, and contributing to group decisions.

A team performs more consistently when responsibilities are clear. Roles do not need to be permanent, and smaller groups can combine several duties. The goal is to ensure that important clues and statements are not overlooked.

The team should separate confirmed evidence from character statements. Physical or recorded evidence establishes case facts, while an interrogation response may be incomplete, misleading, or contradicted by another clue. This distinction becomes especially important when a case includes conflicting times, locations, object descriptions, or alibis.

During a deduction, avoid combining clues merely because they feel suspicious. A strong connection should explain why the selected evidence belongs together. If the connection requires an unsupported assumption, set it aside and review the case board again.

The 11 episodic investigations use a repeated detective structure, but the details and complications can vary. A reliable party strategy is to complete each stage before predicting the final answer. Rushing toward a suspect can cause the group to miss a clue that later changes the timeline or motive.

For larger groups, one player can act as moderator by repeating important information aloud and asking quieter players for their observations. This prevents a single confident answer from overriding useful evidence found on another phone.
